FYI on ALPACAS:

Alpacas are kept primarily for their fleece,

which is a finer grade than llama wool. Even

rarer than cashmere, alpaca fiber comes in

dozens of shades ranging from ivory to black

with many grays and browns in between. The fleece is straighter, softer and finer than sheep wool and is valued for being warmer, lighter,

and softer than other animal fibers.

Stone Oaks Alpacas is a family owned and family operated Alpaca raising and breeding operation.

We believe that the quality of the care and the quality of the fleece are joined hand in hand.

In the coming months and years, through a program of careful breeding and selected additions to the Stone Oaks Alpacas family, we will seek to enhance both the nature and disposition of the herd.

This consistant management will provide both quality bloodlines and breeding as well as ensuring the quality, the durability and, most especially, the longevity of the fleece and its fibers.
